Sports Without Boundaries respects the privacy of our participants, families, volunteers, donors, staff and community partners. We collect personal information only where it is reasonably required to administer our programs, communicate with participants and families, maintain safe programming, meet reporting obligations and operate our organization.

Children and youth
Because many SWB participants are children and youth, we take additional care when collecting and using information relating to minors. Where appropriate, registration, consent and media permissions are obtained from a parent or legal guardian.
Photographs and media
SWB may take photographs or videos during programs and events. Where required, participants or their parents or guardians will be asked for consent before identifiable images are used for public communications, promotional materials or social media.

Choosing not to provide media consent will not prevent a participant from accessing an SWB program unless participation in a particular public event makes this unavoidable and this has been clearly communicated in advance.
Information sharing
SWB does not sell personal information.
Information may be shared with employees, authorized volunteers, service providers, funders or other parties only where reasonably necessary for legitimate organizational purposes, required by an agreement, consented to by the individual, or required by law. Where possible, SWB will use aggregated or non-identifying information for reporting.
Protecting and retaining information
SWB takes reasonable administrative, organizational and technical measures to protect information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure or loss. Access is limited to individuals who require the information to perform their responsibilities.
Personal information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, financial, insurance, funding and organizational recordkeeping requirements. Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or destroyed where appropriate.
Access corrections and questions
Participants, parents or guardians and other individuals may contact SWB to request access to or correction of personal information held about them, subject to applicable requirements and limitations.
